iPhoneTorrent Start free

The practical questions, answered

Getting started

Can I use torrents on an iPhone without installing a client?

Yes. With this service, the torrent runs on servers and you use Safari or Chrome to manage it. This is a cloud method, not an on-device torrent app.

What can I submit?

A magnet link, .torrent file, info hash or HTTP(S) link. You must already have a permitted source. We do not search for content on your behalf.

Is there an App Store download?

No. Use the website. The workflow does not require a jailbreak or sideloaded client.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes, through Safari or Chrome. The larger screen is useful for reviewing a file list, but it does not change which files you are allowed to download.

Files and playback

Where does the download go?

The first transfer ends in cloud storage. To keep a local copy, download the completed file to Files. Compatible media can also be saved to Photos where iOS offers that action.

Why will a stored video not play?

Storage and playback are different capabilities. A codec or file container may not be supported by your browser or device. Do not install unknown profiles or apps offered by a file source as a fix.

Can I close Safari while the torrent runs?

The transfer engine is on the server, not in the browser tab. Return to your account to review progress. Keep your own copy of anything important rather than treating cloud storage as a permanent backup.

Why is a torrent slow or stuck?

A torrent may have too few reachable seeders, limited peer upload speeds or unavailable metadata. Also check available storage. Approximately 20Gb/s is server bandwidth, not a guaranteed speed for each torrent.

Plans and access

What does Free include?

1GB of storage at $0 with no credit card. Pro is 100GB for $9/month and Ultra is 300GB for $18/month. Annual equivalents are $7.20 and $14.40 per month, billed as $86.40 and $172.80 per year respectively.

Can I use a private tracker?

Paid plans support private trackers. The tracker's own rules still apply. Protect passkeys and do not assume a cloud service meets every tracker ratio or client rule.

Are shareable links private?

A shareable link can allow another person to access a file. Treat the link as sensitive and share it only with the intended recipients. This is not a guarantee of access control or anonymity.

Safety and responsibility

Is torrenting itself illegal?

BitTorrent is a transfer protocol. Permission to obtain or distribute the underlying file is the key issue. Laws vary. Use your own files, licensed material, public-domain works or open-source releases whose terms allow it.

Is this an anonymity service?

No. Moving the swarm transfer to servers is not an anonymity guarantee. Your browser still connects to the service, which processes data described in the privacy notice.

Do I need a VPN?

A VPN can change how your connection reaches the internet and shifts trust to the VPN provider. It does not grant copyright permission, remove malware from files or replace the service's data practices. See the safety guide for the limits.

Is the service connected to Apple?

No. iPhoneTorrent is not affiliated with Apple.
